OnParenting: Why V-Day is Important
I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed for the WashingtonPost.com's OnParenting blog regarding why it's important for parents to at least acknowledge Valentine's Day. No, we don't have to arrange the string quartet and candlelit surprise dinner for our spouse (um, what parent has time for that?). But we do need to make sure that our partner in parenting knows we still see him/her as an object of romantic love - not just a co-sponsor of collective family life. And if you don't have the impetus to do it now, when reminders are all around you, it's hard to make the case that it simply slipped your mind. Read the whole post here.
