Unemployment = Emotional Chaos

The economic recession has been felt in all arenas of our society - and our couplings are no different. A recent Murphy's Love question came from a wife wondering whether she should follow her husband's "rules" and not tell their friends and family about his unemployment situation. Read the whole column here.

I was thrilled to receive some feedback about my response to this wife and was able to write about it in another column, here. The writer wanted to make sure we understood the husband's very understandable concerns about the social stigma of moving between career fields. "He feels embarrassed because others may judge him by his employment status," the writer explained. I really appreciate this point of view (and I love, love responses to my columns!) and was happy to have the chance to clarify my points.
